Plainfield Man Arrested After Pellet Gun Shooting

Police have arrested a 31-year-old man suspected of shooting a man in the head with a pellet gun in Plainfield.

Anthony Mann, 31, of Plainfield, is accused of shooting the 47-year-old victim several times with a high-powered pellet gun.

Police said they responded to a home on South Pine Street around 10:50 a.m. Sunday and found the victim with injuries to his head and arm.

He told investigators he was shot during an altercation and the man who shot him fled in a green Mercury Mountaineer.

The victim was transported to William W. Backus Hospital for treated and police confiscated the pellet gun and Mann's vehicle.

Police said this was an isolated incident and that the victim and Mann know each other. 

Mann has been charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, second-degree assault with a firearm, breach of peace, criminal possession of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.

He is being held on a 50,000 cash surety bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at Danielson Superior Court this morning.
