Crews are responding to the intersection of Richmond Street and Downer Street in Stonington after a snow plow struck a utility pole, which snapped and blew a transformer.

Eight people are without power, according to emergency workers on the scene. No one was injured in the crash.

Crews are working to restore power and are expected to be on the scene for several hours.
