SWAT Team Resolves Disturbance at Bristol Home

A SWAT team safely evacuated a woman from a Bristol home after she locked herself in a bedroom due to the behavior of an armed man inside the home.

Bristol police responded to a home on Woodbine Street in Bristol  at 3:02 p.m. on Saturday for a well-being check  and learned that a "suicidal male subject was inside" and "armed with a knife," police said. A woman locked herself in a bedroom as a result, police said.

The Central Region Emergency Response Team was activated and police secured the area, quickly getting the woman out of the home safely, police said. The man with the knife was then "apprehended without incident," police said.

Bristol police continue to investigate the incident.
