Suspect in Drug Deal Hits 3 Officers in East Hartford: Police

Three police officers were struck by a vehicle after they came upon a suspected drug deal outside a Hampton Inn in East Hartford, Connecticut, around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.

Police identified the suspect as Kevin McNeilly, 52, of Manchester, and he was taken into custody in connection to the attack at the Hampton Inn and Suites on East River Drive in East Hartford, police said. 

McNeilly is accused of pinning two of the male officers while backing out of a parking space, then hitting the third officer.

The officers were taken to Hartford Hospital, authorities said. Two have been released and one was held overnight for observation, police said.

Officers fired their weapons but the suspect was not shot. 

McNeilly was charged with engaging police in a pursuit, interfering with police, possession of narcotics and tampering with evidence.

He is being held on $1 million bond.
