Police used a stun gun on a man who had barricaded himself in a home on Elm Street in Enfield Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the man called 911 and claimed to have a knife.  The threatened to kill himself and asked police to kill him, Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said.

Officers closed off Elm Street and surrounded the house at 368 Elm around 1 p.m.  No one else was in the home, police said.

After more than an hour of negotiations, police took the man into custody.
