Police Arrest Teens Suspected of Stealing Car, Burglarizing Eight Vehicles

Police arrested two teenagers Tuesday suspected of stealing a car and burglarizing at least eight vehicles in a West Hartford neighborhood.

Officers discovered the series of car break-ins on Walkley, Farnham and Dorset roads while they were patrolling the area, according to an incident report.

After finding a pile of glass on one of the Farnham Road driveways, police determined that a gray 2013 Nissan Sentra was stolen from the address. The car keys had been left in a purse on the front seat, the owner told police.

The suspects broke windows on four of the cars to get inside.

The two teens face charges of second-degree larceny , criminal mischief and possession of an imitation gun. Police found the car on Garden Street in Hartford. They recovered some stolen items inside and found a non-operative weapon.

Police have not released the names of the two teens arrested because they are under 17.
