A Seymour police car was hit by a car while on Route 8 on Sunday.
Officers say they were assisting Connecticut State Police with multiple accidents on Route 8 when a Seymour police car was hit from behind while blocking the right lane of the highway from traffic.
According to police, the officer was not inside of the police car when it was hit.
The operator of the car was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
Police are reminding motorists to slow down and move over when emergency personnel are performing duties on roads.
