Fairfield Police say a chase that started in Bridgeport ended in a crash at a gas station in their town Monday afternoon.
The chase started around 2:45 p.m. when two Bridgeport officers in an unmarked vehicle spotted two suspects wanted on various charges in that city.
The Bridgeport officers attempted to pull the suspects car over, but they refused and a chase ensued that ended up on the streets of Fairfield.
Police said the suspects hit two other vehicles before crashing into a gas pump at the Cumberland Farms on Kings Highway, near Black Rock Turnpike.
The emergency shut-off on the gas pump immediately kicked and no leak occurred, but a small amount of gas was leaking from a police cruiser on scene.
The two suspects, who police believed were armed and dangerous, fled on foot in separate directions. Both were quickly apprehended and taken into Bridgeport police custody.
It is not clear what charges the suspects were wanted on in Bridgeport.
Fairfield Police plan to charge the suspects with reckless driving, engaging an officer in a pursuit and other motor vehicle charges.
No injuries were reported.
