Cold Case Investigation Includes Search of Former Husband's Home

State police are continuing to investigate the death of Elizabeth Gough Heath and executed two search warrants on her former husband's home in Bridgewater on Thursday.

A father and son found Heath’s remains inside a well under a barn at 89 Poverty Hollow Road in Newtown earlier this month while doing renovations. They purchased the property a few years ago and have been doing work at the site.

Heath previously lived on that property with her husband, John Heath, and disappeared in April 1984.

Land documents show that John Heath owned the property until it went into foreclosure in 2005.

Authorities would not say what they were searching for in John Heath's home.
