Police Arrest Suspect in Bank Robbery

Woodbridge police have arrested a man accused of robbing a First Niagara bank on Oct. 14.

A man went into the bank at 211 Amity Road at about 11:53 a.m., demanded money from one of the bank tellers and ran off on Mettler Street, police said.

Richard Worthington, 29, of Branford, was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree larceny. 

He was detained overnight at the Woodbridge Police Department in lieu of a $200,000 bond, which he was unable to post, police said.

He was arraigned this morning.
