Police Identify Man Killed in New Haven Shooting

A 44-year-old man was shot and killed during a domestic dispute in New Haven on Wednesday night and police said they have taken a person of interest into custody.

Rickie Major, 44, of New Haven, found dead in a home at 162 Frank Street after someone called 911 to report the shooting around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.

Police said the shooting appears to be connected to a domestic incident. There is no public safety concern.

Paramedics pronounced Major dead at the scene.

Authorities have recovered a weapon they believe may have been used in the crime. Police are interviewing a person of interest but have not filed any charges.
