Hamden Police Investigate Shooting

Around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, a man in his 20s was shot inside a home at 359 Mill Rock Road, police said.

Hamden police said on Friday morning  that they were investigating two shootings in a six-hour span, one of which was fatal.

One was a suicide, police said on Friday afternoon.

Police are investigating the other shooting. 

Edward Wright, 22, was shot in the back on Mill Rock Road at 2:45 a.m.

Wright had parked his car at Winchester Avenue and Mill Rock Road, heard a gunshot as he was walking to a Mill Rock Road residence and started running, police said.

A second gunshot was fired and struck him in the back, police said.

He continued to run, collapsed in the doorway and was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Police are investigating.
