Police Investigate Homicide in Meriden
Police identified the man as Richard West, 49, of Meriden.

A man was found dead on Olive Street in Meriden.

The medical examiner has determined that a 49-year-old Meriden man found dead in a multi-family house on Olive Street was the victim of homicide.
Police received a report of a gunshot around 1:15 a.m. on Friday and found Richard West in his home on the first floor of 76 Olive St.
He had a gunshot wound to the chest and was unresponsive. Officials pronounced West dead at the scene.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should call Detective John Wagner at 203-630-6318.
