Authorities are investigating various attempts to cash checks stolen from cars in several Connecticut towns.
Back on Oct. 29, the NBC Connecticut Troubleshooters revealed details about a gang of burglars called the "Felony Lane Gang" targeting cars in parking lots and committing smash-and-grab burglaries around the state.
The 700-member gang has hit more than 40 states and racked up hundreds of millions of dollars in losses for victims. A three-member crew broke windows in three separate vehicles in the Darien YMCA parking lot in September and stole purses, credit cards and checks, police previously said.
Most recently, the Felony Lane Gang national task force reported incidents on its Facebook page of attempts to cash stolen checks taken from car in Connecticut.
One woman caught on surveillance cameras tried to cash stolen checks in the drive-thru at multiple banks in the Southington area while donning different wigs each time, according to the task force.
Authorities believe she stole checks from vehicles at LA Fitness in Norwalk.
The task force released bank surveillance photos showing the woman at a bank in Milford on Nov. 10. Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact Southington Police Det. Scott Wojenski at 860-378-1644.

Earlier in the month, on Nov. 3, employees at a bank in Prospect reported that a woman tried to cash personal checks stolen from a vehicle in Darien after she had cashed two checks the day before, according to investigators. The woman displayed a Connecticut driver's license and bank card of a Cheshire woman who reported her purse stolen from her car while she had been parked at a gym, the task force said. The suspect was driving a newer model gray Nissan SUV on Nov. 2, according to investigators.
On Nov. 3, she was driving a newer white Hyundai with Connecticut license plate AA42642, stolen from a gray Chevrolet SUV in Portland, according to investigators, who said it appeared she was wearing a wig to look like the woman in the driver's license photo. The gray SUV she was seen in had stickers on the lower corner of the windshield.
Anyone who recognizes the woman from that photo is asked to contact State Police Trooper First Class Matt Comeau in the Prospect Resident Trooper Office at 203-758-6150.
It's unclear if the suspect in each case is the same person or whether they're connected, but the crimes are similar and were both posted on the task force's Facebook page.
