Police investigated a reported threat regarding Middletown High School Wednesday evening.
School officials said that police identified a person who made an "inappropriate comment concerning Middletown High School" after the remark on social media prompted an investigation.
"They have dispelled any concern for student safety," Middletown Superintendent Patricia Charles said.
Charles said the incident "reminds us to be mindful of social media friends and not to invite individuals we do not know personally."
The nature of the comment is unknown.
