Police Investigating Robbery at Key Bank in New Haven

A man robbed Key Bank in New Haven Monday morning and police are searching for him.

The robber passed a note to a teller at 195 Church St. at 8:43 a.m. demanding she hand over the money, police said.

The robber did not show, mention or imply a weapon and the teller handed over the cash, police said. No one was injured and the robber ran down Elm Street toward State Street, then likely on to Grand Avenue, police said.

The robber is 6 feet tall or taller and has a stocky build, police said. He wore dark pants or dark jeans, white sneakers, a plaid black and white button-down shirt and a black flat-brimmed baseball cap with “$$$” embroidered on the front.

He has a short beard and mustache and was wearing silver-rimmed prescription eyeglasses.
