Police: Men Try to Steal 173 Tubes of Toothpaste

Two men tried to walk out of this Dollar Tree store with 173 tubes of toothpaste, police said.

Two Bloomfield men have been arrested after allegedly attempting to steal 173 tubes of toothpaste from a Manchester Dollar Tree, police said.

Police said the suspects tried to walk out of the Dollar Tree at 348 West Middle Turnpike, but were intercepted in the parking lot after a store clerk alerted a nearby officer.

Carlis Devorce, 52, and Alexander Grice, 43, were arrested in connection with the incident.

Devorce was charged with sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and interfering with police.

Grice, who was discovered with heroin, was charged with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, possession of heroin and misuse of license plates.

Both are being held on a $7,500 bond, police said.
