Police Nab Suspect in Christmas Tree Theft

East Windsor police have arrested a man accused of stealing a gas station Christmas tree.

A man in a large black pickup took the tree from the outdoor display at the Sunoco  Mart at 11 South Main Street on Tuesday, police said.

The truck was customized for off-roading and police recognized the driverwhen they went through the surveillance video, according to police.

They found the truck and arrested Shayne Stevens, 19, of East Windsor.

He was charged with larceny and is due in Enfield Superior Court on Jan. 3.
