New Haven Police are investigating reports of an alleged armed, home invasion that took place Friday night.

Investigators said police received a call at around 7:00 p.m. from the landlord of a multi-family home at 1412 State Street.

The landlord reported seeing an intruder enter the house with a long gun and then fleeing shortly after.

Police swarmed the area and removed the landlord safely from the home. A tactical team geared up and entered the residence finding just a sleeping tenant inside.

Authorities confirmed they did locate a long gun inside the house. They also said there were no signs of forced entry.

There were no injuries an no shots were fired, police said.

Police believe this to be an isolated incident and are not searching for a suspect, but say they are still investigating all angles.
