A missing baby has been found safe.
Kelley Acevedo and her 7-and-a-half-month-old daughter, Emily Acevedo, had been missing since Wednesday night.
Police issued a Silver Alert on Thursday afternoon and found the mother and baby at a motel in the area of Westport Avenue in Norwalk on Thursday night, police said.
The baby will be turned over to the state Department of Children and Families.
Police said on Thursday that they were concerned about both mother and child, but not treating this case as an abduction.
Acevedo is a client at Crossroads, a rehabilitation center in New Haven, and was staying at the facility's Amethyst House when she disappeared.
Kelley took a train from New Haven to Norwalk on Wednesday for a hearing in a criminal case and brought Emily, police said. After the court appearance, they did not return to New Haven and Crossroads called the stet Department of Children and Families when Acevedo did not return from court.
Police said Kelley had custody of Emily, but DCF is involved and Kelley needs to check in with the department.
