Officers said Lawrence Bald Jr. held a gun to his wife's head and threatened to kill her.
Police have found the missing gunman in Plainville Friday night.
Lawrence Bald Junior was found near his home on Bradley Street at around 7:00 p.m.
Officers said he held a gun to his wife's head and threatened to kill her on Thursday night. She was able to leave their Bradley Street house and call 911.
Swat teams and K-9 units searched a wooded area nearby.
"When he took off, he was armed and it was dark out so we couldn't get a quick jump on him. This area extends for quite a distance in several different directions, so who knows where he is at this point," Lt. Eric Peterson, of the Plainville Police Department, said.
After receiving reports of a man with a gun, officers blocked off part of North Washington Street and the SWAT team was called in.
"We checked the back area thoroughly with our K9. We had six officers walk through the wooded area, no signs that or anything. We have another lead that we're following," Peterson said.
Neighbors said that they were told to stay inside their homes.
Plainville also called in a state police chopper to assist with the search.
Plainville police said they've arrested Bald in the past for other domestic incidents and his wife filed an order for protection last year but it expired.
They also said he was heavily intoxicated and has trouble with his back and knees, so police don't think he could have gone too far.
Bald was found dehydrated and was transported to a local hospital. One he's released, he'll be charged with reckless endangerment, threatening, and breach of peace, police said.
