Police Search for Stamford Bank Robber

Police are searching for the man who robbed a Stamford bank on Tuesday morning.

The robber walked into the First County Bank at 1042 High Ridge Road around 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said he handed the teller a note demanding money and placed a black backpack on the counter. He reportedly told the teller to put money inside and no one would get hurt.

The teller complied, and the suspect got away through the bank's front door. Police said he was last seen walking northbound on High Ridge Road.

It's not clear how much money was taken. No one was hurt and no weapon was displayed, police said.

The suspect is described a white man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black baseball cap with yellow work gloves and a blue bandanna covering his face. Police said the suspect is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and has a medium build.
