Police Seek Man Wanted in Thompson Armed Robbery

State police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in an armed robbery that occurred at a Thompson store a couple months ago.

Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for William "Billy" Barr, 26, of Webster, Massachusetts, and are still looking for him. He is wanted on charges of first-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny in an armed robbery at Bud's Country Store in Thompson that happened Sept. 13.

Police say on Sunday, Sept. 13 at around 4:50 p.m. someone entered the Bud Country Store at 759 Quinabaug Road, flashed a black gun, and demanded money from the clerk.

The suspect reached over the counter and took money from the register, then fled the store on foot to a silver sedan with Massachusetts license plates. The car left the parking lot traveling in the direction of Dudley, Mass.

The suspect was described as a male, wearing a red bandanna over his face, a black sweatshirt with a skull emblem on the front, dark colored baggy sweatpants, and black sneakers.

State police warned the public Barr may be armed.
