Hartford Police Seize 388 Bags of Heroin, Arrest Suspected Dealer in Drug Bust

Hartford police arrested a suspected drug dealer after catching the individual in the act with 388 bags of heroin on the person, police said.

Luz Rodriguez, 34, of Hartford, is facing multiple charges in the drug bust, as well as separate narcotics charges on an outstanding warrant for another incident, police said.

The Hartford Police Department Vice and Narcotics Division were surveilling Newton Street Tuesday after receiving information that someone with an outstanding narcotics sale warrant was going to be selling illegal drugs in that area.

Detectives observed Rodriguez, the person they received the tip about, get out of a car and approach another vehicle. Police stopped and arrested Rodriguez on a warrant  for charges of possession of narcotics and sale of narcotics, police said.

Then, police found 388 bags of heroin in Rodriguez's possession, so they charged Rodriguez separately with possession of narcotics and sale of narcotics.

Rodriguez was already out of custody after posting a $900,000 bond for a previous arrest in which police recovered four firearms and 800 bags of heroin, police said.
