Middletown police said they have seized the car they believe struck and killed a 15-year-old Clinton girl on Friday evening and spoken with a person of interest.
Cailyn Bassett, 15, was walking along Saybrook Road in Middletown on Friday, on her way to meet friends, when she was hit by a car, police said.
The driver fled, according to police.
Police said they have obtained surveillance video and the car is being processed, with help from state police.
No information has been released about the alleged driver or where the car was found.
Bassett was the oldest of four children.
