Police Seize Car Believed to Be Connected to Hit-and-Run

A 15-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car in Middletown.

    Middletown police said they have seized the car they believe struck and killed a 15-year-old Clinton girl on Friday evening and spoken with a person of interest.

    Cailyn Bassett, 15,  was walking along Saybrook Road in Middletown on Friday, on her way to meet friends, when she was hit by a car, police said.

    The driver fled, according to police. 

    Police said they have obtained surveillance video and the car is being processed, with help from state police.
