Police Seize Items From Home of Embezzlement Suspect

Plainfield police seized several items from the Woodstock home of a 59-year-old woman who is accused of embezzling nearly half a million dollars from a Plainfield company.

Cheryl Hicks, 59, worked as the office manager for Concrete Floors Company and police said she inflated her salary for years.

Hicks is also accused of using company credit cards and other company accounts for personal purchases. Authorities said in total she stole nearly $500,000 and she was arrested on Nov. 7 and charged with larceny in the first degree.

Police said they searched Hicks’ home on Saturday and seized several thousand dollars’ worth of items, including a vehicle, currency, firearms, power tools, hand tools, storage units and a camper.

Hicks is due in court on Feb. 22
