Police Warn Residents of Fundraising Scam

Police say they've received several complaints that several young men are knocking on doors seeking cash donations for the Windsor High School football team.

Authorities want residents to know it's not legitimate and that the football team is not doing any door-to-door fundraising at this time.

"This boy was a little too old. He was about 20 and he had no paperwork or anything at all with him so I was a little bit suspicious so I said to him that I had already made a donation," said Jack Kelleher of Windsor.

Several other people have filed complaints with Windsor police prompting the agency to issue a warning to residents that no Windsor High School football players or staff members are doing any door to door fundraisers now.

If those young men stop by your home, Windsor Police urge you to call at 860-688-5273.
