Portland First Selectwoman Susan Bransfield will lead Connecticut's largest nonpartisan organization representing the interests of cities and towns.
Bransfield was elected president of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities at the group's recent annual statewide convention. The presidency is a one-year term. Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, the past president, will continue to serve on the CCM's board of directors.
Bransfield has served as Portland's first selectwoman since 2003. She previously worked as an education service specialist in child nutrition for the state Department of Education.
Waterbury Mayor Neil O'Leary has been elected the CCM's first vice president, while Coventry Town Manager John Elsesser was elected the second vice president.
