Portland Police Search for Witnesses to Fatal Hit-and-Run on Arrigoni Bridge

Police are looking for witnesses to a fatal crash on the Arrigoni Bridge on Nov. 4.

Daquan Moore, a 22-year-old father of two from Middletown, was on a scooter when another driver hit him and succumbed to his injuries, according to police.

Police said a white Audi hit the back of Moore’s scooter and kept going. They have found the car but don’t believe the owner of the Audi was driving the night of the crash, so the driver remains at large.

The Audi and another car were racing each other on the bridge, according to police.

Police said Friday they believe there were witnesses to the crash and they are looking for a silver or champagne-colored 1999 to 2001 four-door Chrysler LHS with a Connecticut registration and tinted windows. It turned around on Main Street in Portland, then went back over the bridge into Middletown, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Portland Police Department at 860-342-6780 or Middletown Central Dispatch at 860-347-2541.
