Body of Missing ECSU Student Found

The human remains found in a wooded area in Trumbull on Friday have been identified as the body of Alyssiah Wiley, a 20-year-old missing Eastern Connecticut State University student, according to state police.

Police said troopers in the K9 unit were using both search and rescue and cadaver dogs off of Quarry Road in search of Wiley when a cadaver dog found human remains around 10 a.m., according to state police.

The state forensics lab in Meriden identified the body as Wiley using DNA, according to state police.

The Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of Wiley's death.
