Power Restored in Old Saybrook

Power was out for about 16 percent of Connecticut Light and Power customers in Old Saybrook this morning, affecting 1,072 customers, but has since been restored.

According to the Old Saybrook Fire Department, a primary line fell near the train station, which interrupted power to the station. Power was expected to be restored by around 10 a.m., but remained out for 889 as of 10:15 a.m.

To repair the line, CL&P shut power off and then re-energize up to a certain point to give as many people power as possible the repair.

The fire department also responded to incidents of smoke in buildings with 3 phase power because of partial power.
