Power has been restored in Hamden and North Haven after an outage that affected traffic lights on Tuesday morning.
There were 1,403 power outages in Hamden, according to the United Illuminating Web site, and this affected traffic lights on main streets.
At the height of the outage, officials from the Hamden Fire Department urged drivers to avoid the area around the Dixwell and Whitney avenue intersection and seek alternate routes.

There were 310 outages in North Haven.
