Prom Reality Show: One Teen's Sober Role

Angela Dunnham of Hartford was all smiles as family and friends snapped pictures of one of her most memorable high school days: her senior prom.  The Weaver High School senior class president got four free tickets, a free limo ride and will be starring in her own prom reality show.  She won all of it in a contest held by the Community Renewal Team.

"They had to submit a 60 second video on why it's ridiculous to drink on the night of your prom, how it can ruin your prom and possibly your whole life," said Nancy Pappas, Director of External Affairs for the Community Renewal Team.

"Prom is something you want to remember.  You're not going to remember, or your not going to want to remember if you're throwing up from a hangover, or your bent over because you've drank too much alcohol. Alcohol is not needed to have a good time," said Dunnham.

She and her friends are living by that message, and they hope their classmates will stay sober, too.  This year's prom was aboard a Lady Katherine Cruise.

"I think if she gives out this message, everyone else will listen, take the time to listen.  Especially, a lot of people like to look up to her," said Josh Foster, a Weaver High School senior.
