Farmington police have arrested a New Britain man accused of making lewd acts to two 14-year old girls last month.

Two 14-year-old girls told police that they were stopped at a red light on Southeast Road around 6 p.m. on June 28 when a man pulled up in his car and honked his horn to get their attention, police said.

When they looked over, they saw the man masturbating and making lewd gestures with his tongue, police said. When they looked away, he honked again, police said.

The girls called police to report the incident. Based on the descriptions of the man, officers identified Gary Germaine, 56, of Lasalle Street in New Britain, as the suspect, police said.

Germaine has been arrested several times and is a registered sex offender in Connecticut, police said.

He was charged with risk of injury to a minor, breach of peace, and public indecency, turned himself in on a warrant and posted bond.
