Residents who live along Shell Beach in East Haven say the structural integrity of their seawall was compromised by Super Storm Sandy and they want the o town to step in and fix it.
Later today, residents plan to hold a special meeting about the problem.
They said the area is prone to flooding because of the damage, the entrance to the beach is dangerous and residents fear the next big storm might destroy the sea wall altogether and send water rushing right onto their properties.
A town engineer said the issue would be looked into.
Residents said they want the sea wall to be repaired now.
A special meeting will be held at 4 p.m.at Morgan Avenue and Old Town Highway.
