Rock Cats Player Gets Promoted to Twins

    Minor league all-star and Rock Cats phenom Kennys Vargas is saying goodbye to Connecticut – and hello to the major leagues.

    Vargas has been promoted to the Major Leagues and will join the Minnesota Twins for their game tonight in Kansas City. He will don uniform number 19.

    Vargas has batted .281 with 17 doubles, 17 home runs, and 63 RBI in 93 games this season with the Rock Cats, leading the team in home runs and RBI.

    Vargas was also the starting first baseman and cleanup hitter for the Major League Futures game that took place on July 13. The game was played at Target Field in Minnesota.
