Roofer Accidentally Sets Fire to Hartford Pizza Shop

A contractor working on the roof of a building on Broad Street in Hartford accidentally set a two-alarm fire at Campus Pizza, according to police.

Firefighters responded to 1258 Broad St. just before 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and everyone was out of the building when firefighters arrived.

Investigators determined that a private contractor who was performing repairs on the roof was using a torch and accidentally set fire to insulation. The fire was deemed accidental, according to police.
