A 911 address mix-up may possibly be to blame for the death of six-year-old Ian Uro. Uro was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:45 a.m. when he was taken to the emergency room of the Beth Israel Medical Center.

A section of Route 1 in Bristol is closed between Windmill Hill Road and the Interstate 95 Exit 55 northbound on-ramp because police are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Joyce Asante, 45, of New Haven, was crossing Route 1 near the entrance of Walgreens Drug Store when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a 79-year-old Fresh Meadows, New York man, police said.

Investigators believe that Asante was walking to a nearby motel, where she was staying, and walked into the road in front of Levitt’s vehicle in a poorly lit area, police said. There are no crosswalks in the area of the accident.

Asante was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and was listed in guarded but stable condition late Sunday evening.

Branford police ask anyone who witnessed the crash to call Officer Raashad Roach at 203-481-4241.

No charges are anticipated against the driver, police said.
