No One Injured When Power Lines Fell on Truck in Greenwich

Route 1 in Greenwich was closed for hours after power lines fell onto a pickup and the truck caught fire, according to the Greenwich Police Department.

The incident happened at a construction site located at 1381 East Putnam Avenue, or Route 1, and no juries are reported.

There were more than 500 power outages in the east side of town, but most of the power has been restored.

Route 1 was closed at Sound Beach Avenue and it will also close at Laddins Rock Road on the Stamford line, but now one lane is closed as Eversource, formerly known as Connecticut Light & Power, makes emergency repairs.

What caused the lines to fall is not clear.
