A 63-year-old man is dead after being struck by a train in Killingly just before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police said Larry Hart was on the tracks in the area of Route 101 and was struck by Providence and Worcester Railroad train that was heading south.
Hart was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police ask witnesses to call Troop D at 860-779-4900.
The manager of Mozzarella's Italian Grill & Bar at 460 Hartford Pike said the incident happened just a few feet from the restaurant.
He heard the train horn blaring and saw the train stopped outside the restaurant.
Route 101/Hartford Pike was closed in the Dayville section of Killingly as crews responded.
