A Torrington man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 8 southbound in town on Monday evening.
Police have identified the motorcyclist as Perry Polderman, 53, of Torrington.
Poderman went off the road three-tenths of a mile south of exit 46 and hit the guardrail, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the crash, Route 8 southbound was shut down near exit 46.
Police continue to investigate.
