Drivers, Student Injured When Car Crashes into School Bus

Two drivers and a student suffered minor injuries when a car hit a school bus on Goodrich Street near Gem Street in Hamden Monday morning.

Joshua Moore, 31, of Hamden, crashed into the back of a school bus stopped to pick up students headed to New Haven Academy High School, police said in a news release. About 15 students were on the bus at the time of the crash.

Moore told police that he "looked down for a second" and that he struck the bus "when he looked up."

Both Moore and the school bus driver were taken in an ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. A 17-year-old female student from New Haven was also transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

Police cited Moore with infractions of failure to keep a safe distance and failure to carry a license.

Hamden police continue to investigate.
