Missing 3-Year-Old Coventry Boy Found

A 3-year-old Coventry boy who was missing for an hour was found safe in the woods near his home.

The little boy is fine, according to police.

Police said the child was walking to a relative's house in what appears to be a compound of houses when he apparently wandered off.

Officers begain searching for the boy in an area along Main Street just before noon.

Trooper Michael Zella, who was off-duty at the time, and his K9 partner "Hero" responded to the scene to help search for the boy.

After a short time, Trooper Zella and "Hero" located the boy on a trail in the woods and near a pond, according to state police. They escorted the boy out of the woods to safety.

The search was focused on the Main Street area of Coventry.

Police did not release the boy's name or a photo.
