Search for Man in Norwalk River Suspended

Rescue crews have suspended a search in the Norwalk River for a man who disappeared after an altercation.

Norwalk police officers responded to 22 Wall St. at 12:18 a.m. to investigate a fight and learned three men were in the river. Officers saw two men climb out of the water, while the other swam toward the Wall Street overpass, according to police.

Officers lost sight of the man and the Norwalk Police Marine Unit, he Norwalk Fire Department and the state police dive team searched the river, but attempts to locate him were not successful.
