South Windsor police have arrested a second man in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars worth of manufacturing material from a South Windsor machine shop.
Police arrested Matthew Veltung, 31, of Enfield, on a warrant on Monday and he has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree.
In March, around $9,000 worth of carbide cutting heads used in manufacturing were stolen from a South Windsor business and investigators tracked some of the stolen items to a Massachusetts scrap yard and identified Veltung as well as Travis Worthington, 27, of Enfield, as suspects.
Worthington was arrested last week and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree, burglary in the third degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree, larceny in the third degree and criminal mischief in the third degree. He remains in police custody, according to the online court docket and it’s not clear if he has an attorney.
Veltung was held on $100,000 surety bond and is due at Manchester Superior Court on Monday.
