About 3,375 more people are working at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton than there were when Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus started in his position.
It's a point he prides himself on as he plans to leave office.
The Secretary addressed shipyard employees and Navy personnel Thursday about the progress of General Dynamics Electric Boat and its growing fleet.
"American manufacturing jobs. Nobody does it like we do. Nobody can build these boats. Nobody can build our service ships. Nobody. Like you can," Mabus said.
Because of the work of Electric Boat employees, the Navy is unstoppable both on the sea and under the sea, according to Mabus.
