Hartford Police Investigate After Semi-Automatic Rifle Fired

Police responded to the area of Love Lane and Waverly Street in Hartford this morning after a man reportedly fired shots into the air from outside a nearby home, authorities said.

According to police, a man who lived in the area fired a semi-automatic rifle from his porch after getting into a domestic dispute. Police were called to the scene, where they discovered empty shell casings outside the home. The Hartford Emergency Response Team also responded to the scene.

Officers learned that Officers learned that the suspect had run to an abandoned building at 21 Love Lane. There they found a Ruger Mini-14 rifle, police said.

The suspect was nowhere to be found.

Police are still investigating the incident and expect to issue an arrest warrant.
