Storms Leave Thousands Without Power

A line of severe storms moved through Connecticut Sunday night.

The storms brought high winds, heavy rain and frequent lightning to the western part of the state around 7:30 p.m. and moved east.

Connecticut Light & Power reported more than 12,000 customers were in the dark as of 10 p.m.

Storm-related problems forced both Metro North and Amtrak to suspend service between New York and New Haven Sunday night.
