You won't be shopping for any “Very Intimate Pleasures” in Southington until after the holiday season. But if you’re thinking ahead to Valentines Day, you should be in luck.
The owner of the proposed adult boutique on Queen Street says he plans to apply for a certificate of occupancy in about four weeks. Dominick DeMartino, who owns four other VIP stores in the state, hopes to open by New Year’s Day or earlier, the Meriden Record Journal reports.
Before the controversial store opens, the town must decide on how specific it plans to be about the type and amount of inventory that will be allowed in the store.
The zoning permit for the store restricts the store's inventory so that no more than 5 percent of the items are adult oriented.
