Suspect Shelton Bank Robbery Arrested

Shelton police have arrested a suspect in a robbery at a local Webster Bank on Monday morning.

The branch at 375 Bridgeport Avenue was robbed at 9:55 a.m. and police said a man passed the teller a note and left with cash.

After surveillance video was released, police began to receive phone calls identifying Michael Magliocco, 26, of Garden Drive in Bridgeport, as the suspect. He was located yesterday at an acquaintance's condo next to the bank, police said.

Magliocco was charged with first-degree robbery, larceny in the fourth degree and breach of peace in the second degree.

He is being held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Derby Court today.

No injuries are reported and no information was immediately available on how much was stolen.

“The quick arrest of the suspect in this case was the culmination of the police and the public working together with the assistance of the media. The patrol division and the detective bureau worked efficiently together to arrest the suspect approximately four hours after the robbery,” police said in a statement.
